Role: Lead Software Engineer (Python / AWS)
Division : Group
Summary of role:
An exciting opportunity to lead Development within the Agile Accelerator function at NCC Group as well as supporting the wider software development team activities. This is a great opportunity to work on mission critical Cyber Security-related products and services, for one of the world’s leading practices. You will be the development SME, spanning a number of newly funded R&D initiatives. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to build solutions following modern software development best practices.
As a core team member, you will have the ability to influence the way we work as a business function and set the standard at an industry level.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of maintainable and scalable API driven PaaS applications, working closely with UX designers, DevOps practitioners and Cloud Architecture experts within the team.
Be the key decision maker for code quality by deciding on design principles and doing regular code reviews across the development resources.
  • Work closely with DevOps to adhere to CI/CD principles
  • Leadership of development resources
  • Implement a test first approach
Requirements:
Skills:
Essential
  • Strong python development experience
  • Experience with AWS SAM (or similar) serverless frameworks
  • Experience working with relational (postgres) and NoSQL (dynamo) databases
  • Experience building loosely coupled, service-oriented REST APIs
  • Good working knowledge of AWS PaaS
  • Technical leadership
  • Agile Development
  • Experience working with CI/CD best practices
Beneficial:
  • Knowledge of ReactJS and single page frontend applications
  • Experience working in the cyber security industry
  • Working knowledge of SCRUM
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Cloud Formation)
  • SDLC and use of frameworks, such as OWASP SAMM
